It's been an awesome week hanging out with StreetsideStig and getting to work on four very different cars. We started off with my '91 Audi 90 Quattro 20V and got quite a bit done with that including a coolant flush, possibly finally fixing the oil leak, and rebuilding the power steering pump. Then we moved on to his '02 WRX and made some visual improvements in preparation for him to take it to Woodward this weekend. Then we finished up today by putting a new starter in his stepdad's '63 Ford Galaxie and got to take that out for a drive. On the way, we picked up the '52 Buick Super and got some photos of the two classics together. The Buick didn't want to run very well, so we ended up doing some minor work on that to no avail. A project for another day perhaps.

At Woodward? Nope. It's not currently running well enough to even get into town from the countryside without having some problems, let alone making a four hour Interstate trip. There's quite a bit that really should be done before taking it on a long drive like that. The gas tank has some rust in it that means it needs to be drained, dropped, and sealed. That may solve several problems, but it also just doesn't run very well in general at the moment. Not sure what the problem is yet.
If you had asked me earlier this summer, I might have had a different opinion since it was running a heck of a lot better. The second or third to last time I drove it was the best it ever drove. But this time and the last time were among the worst.

I LOVE that '52! I have a 1955 Super, and it's remarkable how much they changed in just 3 years..I think your hood ornament is better. A love the waterfall grille too! What a beauty

I prefer the '52 myself, but that's kind of mandatory since it'll one day be ours. The '63 is a handsome barge of a car. And the 352 V8 has quite a bit more pep than the straight-eight in the Buick.

Oh I know, it blows my mind all the time when I think about how much cars changed between the early and mid '50s and then into the early '60s. Quite a bit of drastic change during that era.

Between the galaxie, country squire, Falcon and f-100 63' is one of my favorite years for Ford and I think the 63 country squire is one of the most beautiful wagons made. If I could afford the gas that would be my next car. As it sits its between the 63' falcon and and late 80's Alfa Milano

Very true, '63 was a great year for Fords. I'm not sure if it's my favorite year for them, but it's a good one.

Thats too bad. The cruise need more cars like that Buick, corvettes are nice but they are a dime a dozen at the cruise. You dont see many of those out there.

Yeah, someday when it's mine I plan to take it out to those kinds of things. It's just tricky because those cars weren't fully meant to cruise at 70+ for hours on end. And parts aren't at every corner parts shop. And they can be finnicky. And securing the car is a bit of a joke.
But apart from that, completely worth it. Like I said though, it just needs quite a bit of work before I'd feel comfortable taking it very far.
